Mark began his career in 1982, working as a Site Quantity Surveyor, and joined Kingsbourne as a director in 1994. He was tasked with evaluating variations and claims on a wide range of projects including large dams, bulk earthworks (including open-cast mining), roads and highways, civil and building works, pipe-works and harbours, and power-generation plants.
Mark’s responsibilities include the preparation of claims (including variations) for adjudication, mediation and arbitration for various construction projects in Australia, sub-Saharan Africa, West and East Africa, Mauritius, Madagascar, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, Papua New Guinea and Japan.
Mark regularly sits as an expert witness on matters relating to the quantification of claims in mediations, adjudications and arbitrations in South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana.
Mark has acted, and continues to act, as both a single member DAB and a chairperson/member of three-person DABs on numerous projects in sub-Saharan Africa, in addition to DBs and DAABs.
A citizen of Botswana, Abdul Rauf Abdulla has over 35 years’ experience as a Structural Engineer and Civil Engineer. He has acquired considerable expertise in both project management and contra, including on very large-scale construction projects.
Rauf currently oversees Abdulla Associates, where his key responsibilities include project technical direction and contractual management, contract negotiations and dispute resolution, in addition to identifying business opportunities and ensuring timely, cost-effective project delivery.
His project management expertise covers large-scale projects in all Botswana’s major urban centres, including malls, manufacturing facilities, educational complexes, housing developments and landmark commercial and office buildings for both public and private sector clients.
Notable clients include FNB, the Botswana Development Corporation and Segwana Liquor Distributors. With each project. Rauf brings to bear all his experience and expertise as he assists clients at every stage of negotiation, agreement, monitoring and project completion.
